Egy futamot sikerült rendezeni a Laser Európa Kupa első napján
13 nemzet versenyzői gyűltek össze, hogy részt vegyenek a Laser Európa Kupa magyarországi állomásán a BYC-ben. A regatta első napja halasztással indult.
A reggel 9 órai megnyitót követően körülbelül másfél órát kellett a parton várakoznia a közel 100 fős mezőnynek. Végül bíztatóan kezdett épülni a keleti szél, így a versenyrendezőség a vízreszállás mellett döntött. A Laser Standard és Radiál osztályok tiszta rajtokat követően, enyhén gyengülő szélben, de sikeresen teljesítették az első futamot.
A Standard mezőnyt a Vadnai testvérek uralták, végig magabiztos vezetés mellett végül Vadnai Benjamin futott be elsőként. Második helyen Vadnai Jonatán, harmadikként a dán versenyző, BUNK LAURITSEN Georg Philip végzett.
Radiálban az ukrán, Madonich Oskar győzött. Második helyen Héjja Marcell a BYC versenyzője, harmadik helyen pedig Redling Balázs ért célba.
A 4.7 osztály rajteljárása nem ment zökkenőmentesen, ezzel a mezőny értékes időt veszített. Fekete zászlós rajt mellett indult az első futam, melyet végül rövidítés mellett a BYC versenyzője, Sigmond Soma teljesített a leggyorsabban. Második helyen Kovács Attila, harmadikként pedig Verebély Nándor végzett.
A második futam még frissülő szélben, tiszta rajtokkal indult, de a folyamatosan gyengülő szél végül arra kényszerítette a rendezőséget, hogy érvénytelenítse a második futamot és partra küldje a versenyzőket.
Így a Laser Európa Kupa első versenynapja egy korrekt futammal zárult. A futamok után közös vacsora és a mai napról készült videók várták a versenyzőket.
Competitors from 13 nations gathered together to take part in the Laser Europa Cup Hungary hosted by Balatonfüred Yacht Club. The first day of the regatta started with postponement.
After the opening ceremony the nearly 100 sailors had to wait about 1.5 hours on the shore. Finally, the eastern wind started to build up promisingly, so the race committee decided to go out to the water.
The Laser Standard and Radial fleets, after clear starts, successfully completed the first race in slight weakening wind.
The Standard field was dominated by the Vadnai brothers, Benjamin Vadnai won the race, Jonathan Vadnai was second, and Georg Philip of Denmark BUNK LAURITSEN finished third.
Ukrainian Madonich Oskar won the first race of the Radial fleet, Marcell Héjja (BYC) finished 2nd and Balázs Redling finished third.
The Laser 4.7 first start did not go smoothly, so the fleets lost valuable time. Sailor of the Balatonfüred Yacht Club, Soma Sigmond won the race, Attila Kovács finished second and Nándor Verebély finished third.
The second race started in fresh wind and with clear starts, but the steady weakening wind eventually forced the organizers to invalidate the second race and send the sailors to the shore.
The first day of the Laser Europe Cup ended up with one fair race. Hot-dog and videos of the races were waiting for the competitors at the shore.
