Rajtol a high-performance olimpiai osztályok Európa-bajnoksága Balatonfüreden

Magyar vizeken először rendeznek nemzetközi versenyt az olimpiai high-performance hajóosztályoknak és mindjárt egy Európa-bajnokságot. Október 12-én kezdődik ugyanis Balatonfüreden a 49er és a 49erFX osztályok U23 Európa-bajnoksága. A két osztályban összesen 14 országból 40 egység száll vízre az új Kékszalag Port kikötőben.
Október 12-én kezdődik a 49er és a 49erFX olimpiai hajóosztályok U23-as Európa-bajnoksága Balatonfüreden. A verseny kétszeresen is kiemelt jelentőségű a magyar vitorlázásban, egyrészt még soha nem rendeztek a Balatonon nemzetközi versenyt ezeknek a high-performance olimpiai hajóosztályoknak, másrészt pedig ez a verseny lesz a Magyar Vitorlás Szövetség új, füredi kikötőjében rendezett első nemzetközi vitorlásverseny.
„Ezeknek az osztályoknak Magyarországon nem volt még világversenye, ezért hatalmas lehetőség a jövőre nézve, hogy az idei évben az U23-as korosztályú Európa-bajnokságot itt, Balatonfüreden rendezhetjük meg.” – mondja Cserép Csaba, a magyar 49er osztály osztálykapitánya, a rendező egyesület, a Balatonfüredi Yacht Club elnökségi tagja.
Jó alkalom ez a fiatal magyar versenyzőknek is, hogy hazai vizeken, barátságos környezetben, az utazás kényszere nélkül versenyezhessenek nagyon komoly mezőnyben, amelyben feltehetően a jövő olimpiai résztvevői, talán bajnokai is versenyeznek. Ebben a mezőnyben feltehetően lesz egy-két versenyző, akikkel talán már a párizsi játékokon is lehet majd találkozni.
A füredi Európa-bajnokságon a 49er osztályban 13 ország képviseletében 29 egység áll rajthoz. Közöttük a 2022-es junior vébé lengyel 5. helyezettje, valamint további, az első tízben végzett spanyol egységek, rajtuk kívül az izraeliek és az olaszok is erősek. A vízre szálló három magyar egység tehát komoly ellenfeleket kap. Magyarországot az Európa-bajnokságon a friss magyar bajnok, Szabó Roni Oszkár (EGIS) kormányozta egység mellett a bronzérmes Csák Máté-Balázs Zétény (Kereked) és a Bednár András-Kulcsár Kavics (SVE, BYC) csapatok képviselik.
A női, illetve vegyes páros olimpiai high-performance osztály, a 49erFX mezőnye némiképp szűkebb, hat nemzetből összesen 10 csapat szerepel a nevezési listán, közülük két magyar egység, Korbuly Sarolta Elza és Érdi Ferenc Vince, valamint Tóth Elizabet Virág és Szűcs Benedek.
Általában a junior versenyeken a 49-es osztályban 60-80 hajó szokott elindulni a fiúk között, az FX-ben a lányok pedig 40-50 egységgel versenyeznek. Annak, hogy a mostani versenyen kevesebb egység áll rajthoz, alapvetően az az oka, hogy mindössze másfél-két hónap állt rendelkezésre az esemény megszervezésére és népszerűsítésére, Balatonfüred és az Európa-bajnokságot rendező klub, a Balatonfüredi Yacht Club (BYC) ugyanis beugróként, már-már az utolsó utáni pillanatban kapta meg a rendezés jogát.
„A nyár közepén lett hivatalos, hogy az Európa-bajnokságot eredeti helyszínén nem tudják megrendezni, így új pályázatot írtak ki, amelyen rajtunk kívül egy spanyolországi helyszín aspirált. Végül a BYC nyerte el a rendezés jogát, ami nagy öröm és megtiszteltetés, de egyben teher is, hiszen jóval kevesebb idő állt rendelkezésre a felkészüléshez, mint egy »normál« időben elnyert rendezés esetén” – mondta Böröcz István, a rendező BYC ügyvezető igazgatója. „Örülünk, hogy megmutathatjuk mire vagyunk képesek, gyönyörű tavi környezetben nemzetközi hátterű gárda rendezésében jó versenyekkel és színes programokkal várjuk a felnőtt mezőny küszöbén álló U23-as generációt.”
Az Európa-bajnokságon a regisztráció és az ünnepélyes megnyitó október 12-én lesz, a futamok másnap, 13-án kezdődnek. A verseny selejtezőre és döntő futamokra bomlik, a döntő futamokat a tervek szerint október 15-én és 16-án futják, majd aznap a díjkiosztóval zárul az Európa-bajnokság. A versenyzők a Kékszalag Port vadonatúj infrastruktúráját vehetik igénybe, a szervezők minden nap a futamok után friss gyümölccsel várják őket a kikötőben.
A társasági programok között a rendezők egy vacsora estet is terveznek, ahol bemutatkozik a magyar gasztronómia és meg lehet kóstolni a régió borait, emellett hotdog és pasta party is lesz, de a verseny ideje alatt a helyszínen parkol Ördög Nóra-Nánási Pál páros Nekem A Balaton food truck-ja is.

The European Championships of high-performance Olympic classes are to start in Balatonfüred
This is the first international race held on Hungarian waters for the high-performance Olympics classes. The U23 fleet of the 49er and 49erFX classes are going to compete in Balatonfüred at the European Championships starting on the 12th of October. 40 boats representing 14 countries will take to the water from the Hungarian Sailing Federation’s newly built Kékszalag Port.
“These classes have never had an international competition in Hungary, so it is a huge achievement that this year we can organize the U23 European Championship here in Balatonfüred,” said Csaba Cserép, captain of the Hungarian 49er class, board member of the organizing club, the Balatonfüred Yacht Club.
It is a great opportunity for the young Hungarian sailors to race in domestic waters, in a friendly environment, without the need to travel, in a very strong fleet, in which, presumably, future Olympic participants and perhaps even Olympic champions will compete.
29 teams representing 13 countries will be racing in the 49er class at the European Championships. Among them is the Polish team, who finished 5th at the 2022 Junior Worlds and other Spanish teams that finished in the top ten, as well as the Israelis and Italians, both real strong sailors. So, the three Hungarian teams will face tough competition. The 49erFX fleet is comprised of 10 teams from six countries on the entry list, including two Hungarian teams.
In junior races, the 49er class usually has 60-80 boats, the 49erFX class has about 40-50 boats. The reason why there are fewer teams in this year’s race is that Balatonfüred and the club organizing the European Championship, the Balatonfüred Yacht Club (BYC), were given the right to organize the event at the very last moment.
“It only became official in the middle of summer that the European Championship could not be held at its original location, so a new bid was issued for hosting the race. There were two aspirants, but in the end BYC won the right to organize it. This is a great honour and pleasure, but also a bit of burden, since there wasn’t as much time left for preparation as in the case of a bid won in a ‘normal’ time,” said István Böröcz, executive director of the organizer BYC. “We are happy to be able to show what we are capable of, so we are looking forward to hosting the U23 generation in a beautiful lake environment, with good races and colourful programs, organized by a team with international background.”
Registration and the opening ceremony for the European Championship will take place on 12th of October, with the races starting the following day, on 13th of October. The competition will be divided into qualifiers and finals. The final races scheduled for the 15th and 16th of October. The European Championships will conclude with the award ceremony on the last day. Competitors can use the brand-new facilities of the Kékszalag Port, each day on completion of racing, the sailors will be greeted with fresh fruit when arriving back.
Among the social activities, the organisers are planning a dinner evening where the racers can try Hungarian cuisine and taste local wine. There will also be a hotdog and a pasta party, also a food truck will be available at the harbour.
